A Headshot Identifies You. A Branding Library Supports Everywhere You’re Used.
A strong headshot remains genuinely useful — for a speaker-bureau roster photo, a book jacket, or a LinkedIn profile. But one portrait can’t fill every horizontal, vertical, square and editorial slot a working speaker or author actually needs: a website hero with negative space for a headline, a one-sheet layout, a podcast host’s episode artwork, a press release, a social campaign, a course page. If a single portrait is genuinely all you need right now, Executive Headshots is the more direct, lower-cost option.
A branding library is a planned set of images built around how you’ll actually use them — not a promise that photography alone books engagements, sells books, or wins podcast invitations. Those outcomes depend on your work, your pitch and your platform. What a planned library does is remove one variable: your team isn’t scrambling for a usable image when a deadline hits.
For Speakers, and For Authors
The two audiences overlap, but their priorities differ. Many clients are both — a planned session can support each side of that brand in one production.

Planning Images Around How They’ll Be Used
Different applications call for different image types and crops. This is a planning reference, not a guarantee of specific deliverables or that any one format satisfies every organization’s requirements — current specifications should be confirmed before production.
| Marketing Use | Useful Image Type | Important Consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Website hero | Environmental or portrait, wide crop with negative space | Current site template dimensions |
| Speaker-bureau profile | Clean authority portrait, horizontal and vertical | Confirm the specific bureau’s submission format |
| Book jacket / author bio | Editorial portrait, sometimes with the book | Publisher’s own design and timeline requirements |
| Podcast-guest kit | Square and vertical crops, clean background | Confirm the show’s artwork specs in advance |
| Media / press kit | High-resolution portrait, minimal background clutter | Confirm the outlet’s own image requirements |
| Conference program | Portrait with room for a name/title overlay | Organizer’s print or digital program spec |
| Social and email campaign | Portrait + environmental variety | Platform-specific crop ratios, image recency |
| Course or consulting page | Approachable working or teaching-style image | Consistency with existing brand imagery |
| Video thumbnail | Expressive portrait or presentation-style frame | Legible at small sizes on mobile |
Real Keynote Coverage vs. Directed Branding Imagery
These are two different services, and we’re direct about which is which. Speaker and author branding photography is a scheduled, directed production — portraits, environmental images and presentation-style photographs created in a studio or a controlled setting. Keynote photography is documentary coverage of a real speaking engagement: actual stage presence, audience response, venue branding and presentation context, produced live at your event through our separate Keynote Photographer service.
If a presentation-style image is staged during a branding session, we describe it honestly as a directed presentation or speaking-style photograph — never as documentary evidence of a real keynote. Many clients use both services together: a foundational branding session now, and real keynote coverage the next time you’re on an actual stage.
Book-Launch and Author-Platform Photography
A book launch benefits from planning imagery around the publisher’s cover-design timeline, your publicist’s media kit, and your own social launch runway — each with its own deadline. Scenarios can include a book-jacket portrait, an author website hero, an environmental writing portrait, a photograph with your published book when it’s available, reading or signing imagery, and interview or podcast-style portraits.
If your manuscript is unpublished or confidential, tell us during planning — we can work around a release timeline and keep session details private until you’re ready to announce. Book-jacket, writing-environment and book-in-hand example photography is still a developing category in our own portfolio — the portfolio above shows real speaker and event photography we’ve already produced; author-specific example imagery is a planning item for an upcoming session rather than something we can show today.
Media Kits and Podcast-Guest Imagery
A press kit or podcast-guest package is easier for publicists, event teams and show producers to work with when the images are organized, correctly named, and supplied in commonly useful orientations — square and vertical crops for episode artwork, horizontal for press use. We don’t claim that any specific outlet, publisher, or podcast requires a particular format; if you know a target’s exact spec, share it during planning and we’ll produce to it. Dedicated podcast-set or media-kit example photography isn’t yet in our portfolio — this is planning guidance for what a session can produce, not a claim that finished examples already exist.
Why Real Photography, Not a Synthetic Portrait
For someone who will appear onstage, on a podcast, or in an interview, an accurate photograph matters — it’s the version of you people meet before they meet you. Real photography gives you multiple genuine images from one real session, with known provenance, rather than a single synthetic portrait that can look inconsistent with how you actually appear in person or on video. We’re not aware of a blanket ban on AI-generated headshots across speaker bureaus, publishers, or podcast platforms, and we don’t claim one — some organizations do have identity-verification or authenticity expectations, and it’s worth checking a specific target’s current policy directly rather than assuming.
Photography + Video
When it’s efficient and included in your proposal, photography and video can be captured in the same production. “Video” can mean different things depending on your goal — a brand-story video, interview content, a website introduction, short promotional clips, or social-media video are each a different deliverable with a different scope. See Personal Brand Videography for video-specific details. Live footage from an actual keynote is a separate deliverable through Keynote Photographer, not something we simulate in a branding session.
Planning: Wardrobe, Locations, Books and Brand Details
Sessions can happen in our NRH studio, at your office or a working environment, or at another DFW location selected for your brand — we don’t promise access to a private venue without that venue’s own approval. Bring your published book if you have one, notes on your brand colors, and any specific formats a bureau, publisher or podcast has requested. Wardrobe planning covers solid colors versus patterns, brand-color coordination, and what reads well both in a tight portrait and a wider environmental frame. If a team member, co-author, or interviewer will appear with you, let us know in advance so we can plan the setup.
The 2MM Method™ for On-Camera Coaching
The 2MM Method™ is real-time coaching on expression, posture, eye-line, movement and presence during your session. For speakers and authors this means practicing the register you’ll actually use — composed authority for a keynote portrait, warmth for a podcast-style frame, natural focus for a writing or working shot — with real-time image review when technically appropriate. We don’t claim that a particular expression changes booking decisions, sales, or media coverage; the coaching is about how you come across on camera.
Session Process
- Goals and Platform Discovery — understand your bureau, publisher, podcast, or launch timeline.
- Existing Asset Review — what you already have and what’s missing.
- Usage and Shot-List Planning — map images to the specific applications you need.
- Location, Wardrobe and Prop Planning — studio, on-location, book, brand colors.
- Directed Photography — 2MM Method coaching on shoot day.
- Selects Review — you review and choose before final delivery.
- Finishing and Organized Delivery — retouching and files named/sized for direct use.
What You May Receive
Typical delivery includes professionally finished, high-resolution, web-ready files in horizontal, vertical and square compositions, organized and named for direct use by you, a publicist, or a design team. Files are supplied in orientations commonly requested by bureaus, publishers and podcast producers — this is versatility, not certification by any specific organization, and we recommend confirming a target’s exact spec before submission. Commercial usage terms are defined in your written agreement; exact quantities, turnaround, crops and rights are confirmed in your proposal rather than promised here.
What Speakers and Authors Say
Testimonial placeholder — a real, verified quote from a speaker, author, consultant, or coach client will be added here. No names, bureau or publisher relationships, booking outcomes, or sales figures are implied until a genuine quote is available.
Is This Right for You Yet?
This isn’t only for nationally known speakers or traditionally published authors — emerging speakers and first-time authors are welcome, and a book isn’t required to plan a session. A single current headshot may be enough if you only need one directory-style portrait, you already have a strong image library, or there’s no active launch, bureau submission, or website project underway.
A fuller branding session tends to make sense when you’re preparing a bureau submission, planning a book launch, building or rebuilding a website, starting a podcast tour, or need a coordinated set of images across several formats at once.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this only for nationally known speakers or published authors?
No — emerging speakers and first-time authors book sessions regularly. You don’t need an existing bureau relationship or a finished manuscript to start planning.
Is a published book required to plan an author session?
No. We can plan around a manuscript in progress, and we’ll keep unpublished or confidential project details private until you’re ready to announce.
Can you photograph a real keynote?
Yes — through our separate Keynote Photographer service, which documents an actual speaking engagement rather than staging one in a studio.
Can photography and video be captured together?
Yes, when it’s included in your proposal. See Personal Brand Videography for what video deliverables typically involve.
Can images be prepared in several orientations?
Yes — horizontal, vertical and square crops are standard planning output; share any specific dimensions a bureau, publisher or podcast has requested and we’ll produce to that spec.
Can a team member, co-author, or interviewer participate?
Yes — let us know in advance so we can plan the setup and timing around everyone involved.
How are locations selected?
Our NRH studio, your office or working environment, or another DFW location chosen for your brand. Any third-party venue requires that venue’s own approval — we don’t promise access without it.
What should I bring?
Your published book if you have one, notes on your brand colors, and any exact format specs a bureau, publisher or podcast has given you. A few wardrobe options helps us plan around what reads well in both tight and wide crops.
What if I’m uncomfortable on camera?
Common, and part of what the 2MM Method coaching is for — real-time direction on expression and posture, with image review along the way when technically appropriate, so you can see what’s working before we’re done.
How far in advance should I book before a launch or conference?
Earlier is better for a book launch, since publisher cover-design timelines and media-kit assembly take real time — plan for a session well ahead of your target date rather than the week of. Exact timing depends on your specific launch or event; ask us during planning.
Are usage rights included?
Commercial usage terms are defined in your written agreement. Ask about your specific use case — bureau roster, book cover, paid advertising — during your quote so the agreement matches it.
How is pricing determined?
Custom-quoted by session length, deliverable scope, and whether video is paired in. See Branding Packages for the general engagement structure, then request a quote for a project-specific proposal.
What information is needed for an accurate quote?
Whether you’re a speaker, an author, or both; your primary goal and target uses; a launch or event date if relevant; your desired session window; photography only or photography plus video; studio or location preference; and a link to your current website or media kit if you have one. Request a quote with those details and we’ll send a complete proposal.
